“No offense to the nerds out there.” I laughed out loud at this part Jocko.
My first bjj experience was a guy far smaller and weaker than me and he tapped me out at least 5 times. Knowing the techniques is more powerful than strength alone for sure!
I just met Frederick Downs here near DC at an FDA Advisory Committee meeting. His book sounded sooo familiar until I realized I had listened to your PodCast a few months ago! He is a true American Hero and he continues to keep the fight through his work as the national director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) totally revamping the Department Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) and now a member of the Patient Engagement Advisory Committee. He still counsels new amputees both civilian and military and lives life to the fullest; a true inspiration to everyone who is fortunate to meet him. What an awesome experience!
