You should do “Infantry Attacks” by Erwin Rommel. Said to be one of Patton’s favorite books.
Just discovered your podcast. First off, thank you for your service and all the effort you’re putting into your productions. Although I’ve only listened to a few podcasts thus far, they are fantastic! Regarding this episode, just wanted to say that Men Against Fire is one of those books I’ve seen around and heard of, but never gave it a read. Until now. I also wasn’t familiar with the character issues surrounding S.L.A.M. Had I known about these things, my first response would have been to dismiss his work outright as well. After listening to this podcast, however, I finally had to pick up and copy and read it. You are 100% correct…this is a really important book and there is much to be gleaned from it. Not only was it filled with some really good and important insights, I also found it a pleasure to read.
