LIGHTHOUSES
The Earth shivered and sag,
the maw of the dread
roared in the dark.
Struck by the light,
by the sprinkle of hope,
lighting the sparks,
in our hearts.
Just silent whispers of fallen,
those gone before us,
giving us swords of reasons,
shields of the cause
and wisdom of seights,
of the grim path ahead.
Grey shadows of the dread,
hords waiting for bite,
We shiver in fear, naked in truth,
no weapons to grab, just wispers we hear.
Those fallen holds us in line
at whom shall we storm?!
ours brothers in front?!
Their faces we see in agony of light,
our fallen has bought us this magnificent sight,
do not let it fade, embrace the pain
since maw of the dread may devour it again.
Thank you gentlemen. This was a thoroughly enjoyable and yet very difficult 2 part podcast to listen to. I am looking for a copy of the book, and look forward to Jocko’s audio version. Everyone should hear this podcast and realize that as Americans and especially men we have a duty and should take responsibility to build up our great republic. Resistance should be given to allow the division we see now to deepen or become more stark. We must endeavor with mighty conviction to hold a higher standard to preserve all that is best for our children. Thank you again.
so… two other books might warrant reading after listening to 325, Empire of the Summer Moon and … A Peace to End all Peace. have listened for quite a while and thought this would bring some more to the table. additionally, i so appreciated you having women on who have served so maybe do some more of that (SPC Jamie J. Holmes (Kemp) who was spend time with the Teams during Gulf Storm out of the NATO base Porto/Naples and has a great story, or were married/sisters to those who were, (Ryan Manion 201) which i know did and her story was powerful.
Thanks for writing such an informative article; it helped me expand my knowledge.
