Man what an awesome interview. Your podcast’s are very inspiring, interesting and relatable in a sense. I’m a combat engineer in the Army and hearing your gratitude During another podcast of us guys that did route clearance on deployments really means a lot. I spent 15 months on Camp Ramadi in 2008-2009 doing route clearance in that AO and listening to you and your team members experiences is incredible. I know I’ve always looked up to and have had a deep respect for the work you all have done and others continue to do. Thanks for the content you produce and I look forward to more to come. Much respect and thank you!!
Damn, this guy really needs to get his life sorted out and decide what sort of job he really wants to do, if he’s ever going to make something of himself !
What an incredible story! Emotional story ! My undying respect gentlemen ! It’s an honor to be a fly on the wall listening to this story.
I took a break this afternoon from life and listened to this. Glad I did.
A lot of great things mentioned. Humble inspirational guy sets a high bar. (Litterally NASA)
One thing that hit home was channeling negative experiences to do good things. No child should have to go through what he did but he did well to use it to make himself better. Its something that Is interesting and I will add to the list of topics to investigate more in depthly from a systematic human factors position.
I submitted an application to NASA to go to MARS. Why not but question is if they take me up on it do I change paths?
Personal panademic update using cdc data. Still developing to see if the trend line is exponential or linear. Still not enough pieces of data for any sort of validity or reliability. Plus trying to find out data collection methods.
Regardless, I agree with the general surgeon the panademic is most likely to get much worse and last longer then expected.
Now to play catch up on the other podcast with Dan.
Difficult to do with the high workload right now but it’s just what has to be done.
Just like I have to see how I will fit leadership development training in.
As always great work and look forward to what is coming. Stay safe and healthy.
Episode #221
This episode was deep and emotional! I was moved by the stories of triumph and overcoming situations that would be seen by most as insurmountable.
Amazing-this has changed my thoughts about difficulties in general life as being so small that they are moot.
I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart. There are a lot of people out there, selling a lot of ideas, you’re one of the only public figures that I believe shoot straight. As a society we’ve missed the philosophers and teachers, the Socrates and the Senecas. I don’t think you set out to be that, but you have become a philosopher for discipline and honestly…true humility. Thank you for what you do, please don’t stop.
On a personal note, I want you to know that you have helped push me out of an apathetic stupor. I’m not just trying anymore, I’m doing. I started listening to your podcast two years ago and it’s helped spark a profound change in the way I hold myself and judge myself. I have a long way to go, but with you yelling over my shoulder I feel a little more confident. I have noticed your parallelism with biblical virtues and I think perhaps you hold some of those beliefs. Let it shine brother.
This man’s story might be the most extraordinary thing that I’ve ever heard. What a human being, what a shining example for us all! Thanks Jocko, thanks Jonny, can’t wait to see you step off that spacecraft onto the moon!
STEP!
STEP!
Jonny Kim is an incredible man who has achieved great things. His story is a reminder that anything is possible if you set a goal and work hard.
