This is an amazing book and I learned a lot. Thank you for reading from it. You might want to check out Guns, Germs and Steel to give another perspective on the defeat of the native people in the Americas.
My point by mentioning Guns, Germs and Steel is that there was a lot more to it than mere military history, or weakening of the native people’s warrior spirit, surrendering their guns, etc.
Jocko, just listened to this podcast, I love the perspective from the Native American standpoint; very informative to hear the opposing perspective and gain insight into how the Indians were treated and see firsthand what a warrior culture they truly were. Jocko you truly inspire all to be better, stronger and enlightened versions of themselves!
This is one of my favorite episodes. I have listened to it several times and being blessed to live only a short distance from the battlefield, and having often ventured into the places mentioned in the episode in search of fish and game I can certainly see how this Warrior grew to be the man he was. There are many lessons in this episode. Thank you for emphasizing the importance of maintaining your arms!!!
