You asked for clarification on a part of the book…”never overlook failure to carry one out.” Translation – Don’t ignore insubordination. I have found several ways to effectively address this, but his advice was simply stating that avoiding insubordination or a failure to follow an order by choice is poor leadership and ultimately will encourage your troops to continue on with bad habits. I believe that he meant, “Do not overlook an instance where your team failed to carry out an order.”
